Wedding Violinist FAQs – Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay & Scenic Rim

Everything you might be wondering about live violin music for your wedding

How much does a wedding violinist cost in the Gold Coast or Byron Bay?

The price depends on where your wedding is being held and how long you’d like me to perform. My most popular options are Ceremony and Ceremony + Canapés, with a minimum booking time of one hour. You can send through your date and venue for a personalised quote.

What does live violin add to a wedding?

Live violin brings so much emotion to the moments that already mean the most. It creates a beautiful atmosphere as guests arrive, makes your aisle entrance feel even more memorable and brings an incredible sense of celebration to your just-married exit. It’s also something your guests can enjoy during drinks and photos, so the atmosphere continues while you’re away having portraits taken. You can watch videos from real weddings and events to get a feel for how live violin sounds on the day.

What parts of our wedding can you play for?

For ceremonies, I can play for:

  • Guests arriving

  • Wedding-party entrances

  • Your walk down the aisle

  • Signing the marriage certificates

  • Your just-married exit

My Ceremony + Canapés package continues throughout drinks and photographs until your reception begins. This means the music flows naturally into the celebration rather than suddenly stopping after the ceremony.

What kind of music do you play?

I play a mix of modern pop, romantic favourites, and selected classical pieces. Everything is performed live on solo violin with beautiful piano or instrumental backing tracks.

My repertoire includes artists such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Lana Del Rey, Coldplay, Beyoncé, Elvis Presley and The Beatles, along with timeless wedding favourites.

Can you learn a special song for us?

Absolutely. I love learning songs that have a special meaning for a couple. Depending on your package, a number of special song requests may be included. If your song isn’t already on my repertoire list, send it through and I’ll let you know whether it will work beautifully for solo violin and backing track.

What if we don’t know which songs to choose?

That’s completely okay - you don’t need to have everything worked out when you book. Around three months before your wedding, I’ll send you a questionnaire to help you choose songs for each part of the ceremony. I can also suggest combinations that flow well and help you decide which song would suit your aisle entrance, signing and exit.

Will the music be loud enough for our guests to hear?

Yes. I perform with professional amplification so the violin and backing music carry beautifully without feeling overpowering. I bring the sound equipment needed for my performance and adjust the volume to suit your venue, guest numbers and the atmosphere you’re creating.

Can you perform outdoors?

Yes - I regularly play at outdoor ceremonies across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay, the Tweed Coast and Scenic Rim. Because violins and electrical equipment can’t be exposed to rain, direct sunlight or strong wind, suitable cover and a wet-weather backup are essential. This protects the instruments and ensures the music still sounds beautiful and uninterrupted.

What happens if it rains?

Your venue should have a wet-weather ceremony option or a properly covered performance position available. A small umbrella isn’t usually enough to protect a violin, speaker and electrical equipment from rain or wind. If the weather is uncertain, I’ll work with you and your venue to confirm the safest performance location.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your booking, please refer to the terms outlined in the contract. Generally, deposits are non-refundable, but Lauren will work with you to reschedule if possible. Full payment is generally due 21 days prior to your wedding.

Where are you based, and how far do you travel?

I’m based on the Gold Coast and regularly perform across:

  • Gold Coast

  • Brisbane

  • Tweed Coast

  • Byron Bay

  • Scenic Rim

  • Sunshine Coast

  • Toowoomba

I’m also available for selected interstate and destination weddings. You can explore the locations I cover on my wedding violin service areas page.

How far in advance should we book?

Popular Saturdays and peak-season dates can book well in advance, so I recommend enquiring once your date and venue are confirmed. Twelve months ahead is ideal, although there’s never any harm in checking for a closer date - I may still be available.

How do we secure our wedding date?

Start by completing my wedding enquiry form with your date, venue and a few details about your plans. I’ll check my availability and send you a personalised quote. A 25% booking payment and signed agreement are required to secure the date. Once those are completed, your booking is officially confirmed.

When is the final payment due?

The remaining balance is generally due 21 days before your wedding. Your exact payment schedule and cancellation terms will be included in your agreement, so everything is clear before you book.

Do you perform at receptions and events too?

Yes. I can perform upbeat modern violin for receptions, corporate events, award nights, store openings, private celebrations, proposals and special occasions. The music can be soft and elegant in the background or fun and energetic when you want to lift the room. Visit my services page to learn more about wedding and event performances.

Can you perform in a church or religious ceremony?

Absolutely. I regularly perform in churches, chapels and religious settings. Some churches have specific requirements around music or backing tracks, so it’s worth checking with your priest, minister or venue coordinator. I’m also happy to speak with them if any musical details need to be confirmed.

Why book Lauren Bradnam Violinist?

Being part of someone’s wedding is something I never take lightly. I put so much care into the music, preparation and little details that help everything feel effortless on the day.

I was incredibly honoured to be named the #1 National Winner for Live Entertainment at the 2025 Australian Wedding Awards and the #1 Queensland Wedding Instrumentalist at the 2025 ABIA Awards.

The awards mean so much, but what matters most to me is helping you create a wedding soundtrack that feels completely like the two of you. You can read more about my wedding industry awards and see what previous couples have shared in their love notes.
